Polished Concrete is hard and durable, which is great for maintenance, but requires much more heavy-duty equipment and tooling than working with natural stone. With dedicated concrete equipment, we can grind your concrete down for heavy aggregate exposure, which makes for an unbeatably dramatic result. If your style is more the “salt and pepper” look of light aggregate exposure, we can do a lighter grind to achieve that.
For the highest shine with the greatest clarity, a full mechanically polished concrete is the only way to go. No artificial coatings, just the use of specialty diamond abrasives. Every step brings out more color, clarity, and shine. If you’re looking for a shine, and want nothing less than the best visual result you can get, mechanical polishing is the way to go. And with an appropriate sealer, you can still have great protection against spills and staining.
Coatings, whether an epoxy, coat of paint, or thin set, need to be removed before anything significant can be done to your concrete floor. Quality Stone Restoration Concrete Division can handle that. With specialty tooling and heavy-duty equipment, we can make quick work of removing that coating. Then, we can begin the steps necessary to transform your concrete into a highly polished floor. If you just need to prep your concrete for new installation, or new coat of epoxy, we can get your floor ready for that stage of your project.
Sometimes your concrete just needs a good cleaning, and Quality Stone Restoration Concrete Division can help you with that. Using advanced cleaning agents and proven techniques, we can clean and freshen up your concrete floors without all of the preparation to grind and polish your floor.
Applying a quality guard to your concrete provides durability and a wider array of protection. A guard is similar to a topical sealer in many ways, but is far more durable. Our concrete guard leaves a high shine almost as good as a mechanical polish. It’s durable, slip resistant, and can even protect against acid spills. If you spill an acid on the guard, you will still need to clean it, but whereas a mechanically polished concrete floor will etch immediately, with a guarded concrete, you will have time to clean any spills before damage occurs.
One of the beautiful things about a guarded polished concrete floor is the ease of maintenance, and even better, the ease of bringing it back to life. Guards are strong, but not indestructible. Over time, you may notice fine scratches, scuffs, and an overall appearance a little less lively than when it was first done. No need to grind, polish, and guard all over again. We have high speed burnishing equipment and pads to make quick work of those minor issues. With a couple of quick passes, those fine scratches and scuffs disappear, and leaves your concrete floor with all of the life and luster you fell in love with in the first place.
